Review of 'Destiny's Blood' 4/5 stars.
I very much enjoyed reading Marie Bilodeau's 'Destiny's Blood'. You can read my review of the book over at 'The Future Fire' - http://bit.ly/g0HxmR

So much inspiration, so little time...

Up until today I have been completely out of action thanks to a debilitating dose of flu. So now I can get back to working hard in my spare time again on my new book, not to mention finish off editing 'Anarchic Angel'. Luckily, I have found lots of wonderful inspiration to keep me going with it all.
I know I'm late to the party on this one, but Echo and the Bunnymen's 'The Killing Moon' has profoundly influenced my writing. It contains everything I am trying to convey in my work at the moment: mystery, hauntings, love, loss, death, myth... and I adore it. I swear this song brings out the fifteen year-old in me!
I have also been utterly captivated by 'Being Human.' I love how the characters develop throughout the series, although I still think the scariest of all is the hospital canteen worker that Herrick turned into a vampire... I tried to find a picture to show just how petrifying she is but no joy :-(
My favourite find of all has been the HBO series Carnivàle. The visuals are stunning, and given how much of a role Tarot cards play in 'Anarchic Angel', I particularly enjoy the opening credits. I bet you think you can't get any more excited about this show, don't you? Well, you're wrong! Guess who guest stars? Michael J. Anderson from 'Twin Peaks'!
Over Christmas I discovered 'Gingersnaps' - think 'Jawbreakers' with werewolves! The script is brilliantly written with punchy and hilarious dialogue.
Even though words are my thing, watching animation shorts really inspires me. This beautiful paper animation, titled 'The Move' reminds me of the art of the 'Coraline' movie.
If I'm not careful I won't have enough time to write!
